1.2 The Solution

BP Web Solutions (BPWS hereafter) has extensive experience building high quality, effective web sites and marketing them on World Wide Web. Here is what we recommend BPWS do for Your Company:

q BPWS will design a new and exciting site/online store, which will allow web surfers to view inventory and make purchases online. Please see Section 2.1 for more information.
q BPWS will market the site to enhance its visibility on the Internet. BPWS will not only register the site with the Internet’s major search engines and directories, but will also design five additional “doorway” pages tailored to the keywords/search phrases of your choice. See Section 2.2 for more information.
q BPWS will host new website and provide management and administration of the web-based infrastructure, including paying InterNIC fees, server space lease fees, ISP setup costs, as well as performing the related administrative tasks. BPWS will provide e-mail account administration, technical support, routine maintenance and system backups. Please see Section 2.3 for more information.
q BPWS will perform additional development/updates upon request as described within section 2.4

2 Overview

2.1 Web Site Design

BPWS has already registered your domain name, www.Your Companyspports.com. The next step is sketching a new look for the site, complete with custom graphics, and navigation menu. After the graphic design/layout approved by Your Company, BPWS will begin building static and dynamic web pages.

The static pages will be used to display information that changes infrequently, such as company address or shipping policies. The dynamic pages will be generated from the data in the database, which will allow you to update the inventory counts, prices, or product availability. To allow you to perform such updates on as-needed basis, BPWS will build an administrative site with access protected by a logon name and password.

BPWS will build the following static pages:

a) Home Page.
b) Shipping and Return Policies.
c) About Us/Contact Us.

BPWS will also build components and dynamic pages to implement the following functions:

1) User Site
a) Browse Categories/Products
b) View Product Details
c) Search/View Results.
d) View Shopping Cart/Checkout

2) Admin site
a) Add/Modify/Delete Categories
b) Add/Modify/Delete Products

2.2 Search Engine Optimization

According to marketing research, 85% of Internet surfers find information, products and services via search engines. But if your site is not ranked high enough on the search engines (e.g. after the third page of the search result), none of that traffic will come to you. Search engine optimization ensures that your site is ranked higher for the queries relevant to your business. BPWS will perform search engine optimization for the pages listed above and will build five additional “doorway” pages tailored to particular keyword/phrases of your choice.

2.3 Web Hosting

Based on the requirements for this proposal, BPWS has determined that our Gold hosting plan is best fitted for your needs. (See Appendix A for the list of available plans). The plan includes the following:
q All required server maintenance, including backups, system upgrades, and monitoring. BPWS will keep a constant and watchful eye on your Internet interests.
q All administrative services required to keep existing domain and server up and running, including paying for domain renewal, and ISP fees.
q Regular security audits. BPWS takes Internet security very seriously. We keep our software current and our code secure.
q Microsoft Windows NT Server with IIS.
q 100 MB disk space.
q 30 mail boxes, configurable via web interface.
q FrontPage extensions and ASPs.
2.4 Site Maintenance and Updates

In order to keep site content up to date, and projecting maintenance requirements for the future, we recommend our Level 2 Maintenance Plan, which will provide Your Company with a cost-effective way to perform minor updates to the site. As part of this plan, BPWS will provide:

q Routine content updates. BPWS will be available to perform relatively minor content updates at Your Company’ request. New functionality or significant redesign falls outside of the scope of this Maintenance Plan, but is always available for an additional charge at the current development rate. For the purpose of this Maintenance Plan, BPWS will provide up to 2 hours per month of content updates at no additional charge. Generally, we can perform such updates immediately upon request, but do ask for 48 hours’ notice.

q Monitoring of the site position with the search engines and necessary modifications of the “doorway” pages in order to keep best possible rankings for the site.

q Technical support. BPWS will provide unlimited e-mail technical support and up to 2 hours of phone support.

Typically, on-site visits for the purpose of technical training and the like falls outside the scope of this Maintenance Plan – but are always available for an additional charge.
